Bring your own machine
Your laptop, workstation or cloud server runs the commands. Otak’s service routes the connection. It doesn’t supply compute.
Check a build. Continue a coding session. Take back control.
Otak connects your browser to real terminals running on your own machines.
~/project $ npm test
✓ session starts
✓ connection restored
✓ same process, still running
~/project $
Otak uses a small command-line tool on your machine and a browser on the device you’re holding.
Install the host tool on Linux or macOS, sign in with an email code, and approve the machine. The host needs tmux.
Run your shell or terminal program through the host tool. Sharing is an explicit choice; local sessions stay local until you enable it.
Confirm the pairing fingerprint, select a session, and take control. Reconnect to the same process when you switch devices.

Closing the browser detaches from a session. Stopping the process is a separate, confirmed action. Rebooting the host still ends its processes.
Take control when you’re ready to type. Other views observe. Your local terminal can reclaim control, and you can turn sharing off.
Terminal input and output are encrypted between the host and paired browser. The relay still handles account and connection metadata. Your browser and host see the content; this isn’t a claim of independently audited security.
We’re preparing Otak’s hosted launch. The app will live at app.runotak.com.
